Sharp’s 90-inch TV is a marvel of
technology, which weighs a mere 64 kilogrammes, and roughly measures 2
metres in width, and 1.2 metres in height with a diagonal screen size of
more than 2.2 metres (90 inches), the firm said in a statement on
Monday.
The company's also done a nice job of stuffing a good amount of software inside the 1080p-capable AQUOS,
including apps such as Netflix, Hulu and Vudu. Additionally, Sharp is
throwing in a pair of 3D glasses, which should come in handy
during your precious movie night with the family. Best of all, it's up
for grabs now, but prepare your wallet to take a major hit, as you'll
have to shell out $11,000 {About 1.8 million naira} to get one of these in your living room.
The technology was unveiled this weekend during a regional event hosted by Sharp in the picturesque setting of Mauritius.
The ceremony was attended by the
Director for Africa Operations, Tristar Singapore, Mr. Arun Ardhanari,
and 200 other distributors from countries in the sub-Saharan Africa.
As the innovator of LCD technology, which is the basis of modern day LCD
and LED TVs, Sharp said its unique proposition was leading the demand
in the region for 60-inch and above TV segment.
