VC,Exams & Records' Office burnt down,students killed,all at UniUyo

Once quiet University of Uyo was thrown agog when a clash occurred between protesting students and the police. The students were said to have calmly showed up at the Vice Chancellor Prof. Comfort Ekpo's office to peacefully protest the increase in transport rates from the town's campus to the permanent site at Nsukkara Offot from N100 to N200 per student each day. They also wished to discuss issues surrounding the absence of sufficient lecture theaters in the school and the exorbitant fee of  N2000 in registering for GST(General Studies)..

Oya wait oo...I thought a lady VC would at least have a heart, why would you approve of an increase in transport fares to N200? Is she a learner? Does she think students pluck money from trees??

The students were refused access to the V.C by the security officers which aggravated the students as they began to throw stones at the security officers. The Security officers had to choice but to call for Police back up ...The police arrived and all they could do to calm the situation was to shoot at the students..

Oya wait again... First a student in Benin was killed by a Police, now in Uyo, 3 more?? I don't know where our Police got their training from, but haven't they heard of rubber bullets and tear gas in dispersing crowds?? Your job is to protect us, not kill us oooo!!

The students in retaliation laid thier hands on the school properties, setting the Main gate, VC's office, Exams and records office ablaze.

The school has been shut down till further notice.. View more pictures of the riot after the cut...

Too bad for the final year students...
